Each English student must pay for the following:

  1. Placement test
  2. Annual registration fee
  3. Tuition
  4. Book(s)


(Additional fees apply to F-1 students)

F-1 Student Fees & Tuition

Fees Needed to Obtain your I-20


  • F1 Application fee  ($125)
  • Application Fee for Change of Status ($225)
  • Placement test ($25)
  • I-20 Shipment Fee ($90) (if necessary)



Fees When You Start to Study

  • Registration fee  ($150 per year)
  • Tuition $3,160 per quarter OR 3 payments of $1,095 every 4 weeks
  • Books $100-150 per quarter
  • Extension Fee ($50)
  • Vacation Fee ($100)


Total Cost by Quarter (Cost includes tuition, registration, and books)

  • Cost for 1 quarter (3 months): about $3,350.00 
  • Cost for 2 quarters (6 months): about $6,600.00
  • Cost for 3 quarters (9 months): about $9,900.00 
  • Cost for 4 quarters (1 year): about $13,150.00 


Note: International students can take a vacation after 9 continuous months of study, so the annual cost for TLC students is similar to the cost for 3 quarters of study ($9,900.00)


Tuition for All English Programs

Intensive English Program

(12-week program)

  • Speaking and Listening  $350/4 weeks
  • Reading and Writing - $250/4 weeks
  • Grammar for Communication - $550/4 weeks
  • Full-time - $1,095/4 weeks 


Night and Saturday Classes 

(8-week program)

  • $350/8 weeks of tuition


Private Classes 1-on-1

  • $40/hour
  • $50/hour off-site


Semi-Private Classes (2 students)

  • $25/hour/person (We require a minimum of 1.5 hours per week and you pay month by month)
  • $30/hour/person off-site


Private Group classes (3 or more students)

  • $16/hour/person (We require a minimum of 1.5 hours per week and you pay month by month)
  • $20/hour/person off-site


1. Placement Test

What is this test?

All prospective students must take the Oxford English Testing Assessment in order to determine your proficiency level. The test will identify what level your English is, and tell you your strengths and weaknesses in certain areas of English. It will determine where you should be placed in one of our programs.


Take the test at home

You can receive a placement test via email once you pay $25 on this website! You will receive an email with login instructions from Oxford English Testing within 1 business day. 


Take the test at Tampa Language Center

You can also make an appointment to take a test at the school during the hours below. You can call or email us about this, too. Placement test appointment times:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:00PM


After the test
Once you've completed this test, we'll send you your results along with possible programs you can sign up for.

2. Annual Registration Fee



$50 per class

This is an administration fee that is for each new class. The fee is paid once a year, on a rolling calendar (so you don't have to pay it again until this time next year).

OUR REFUND POLICY

  • Program Calendar, Schedule and Pricing

    Scheduling is based on the current Tampa Language Center program schedule. Minor deviations from the published schedule may take place but will not affect the total number of classes. Pricing is based on the current Tampa Language Center price list and prices are subject to change. 

  • Refund Policy for Full-Time Students Who Pay in Advance

    Withdrawal after the full refund period is based on the following refund policy for one-quarter of our Intensive English Program ($2,995.00). Refunds will be made directly to the person/entity who made the payment.




    If Withdrawal or Cancellation occurs:                     The School Will Refund: 





    Within 2 Days of Start Date or During 1st Week                       80% of TOTAL tuition 



    During 2nd Week                                                                           60% of TOTAL tuition



    After 2nd week                                                                               0% of TOTAL tuition 



    *You will follow another refund policy if you make monthly payments. Late payments will incur a $30 per week charge. See monthly calendars in classrooms for payment due dates.

  • Monthly Tuition Agreement Refund Policy for Full-Time Students

    Withdrawal after the first day of the quarter has begun is based on the following refund policy for one quarter in our Intensive English Program ($3,120.00).





    If Withdrawal or Cancellation occurs:                                        The School Will Refund 



    Within 2 Days of Start Date or During 1st Week                       80% of TOTAL tuition 



    During 2nd Week                                                                           60% of TOTAL tuition 



    After 3rd week                                                                               0% of TOTAL tuition 





    If student elects to pay monthly, he/she will need to sign the Monthly Tuition Payment Plan Agreement!

  • Refund Policy for All Part-Time Students in Intensive English Program

    All students may submit a written request to cancel three (3) days prior to the course start date and they will receive a full refund. During the period from 2 days prior to the class starting date until your third class, if you choose to withdraw from your course, you will only have a 70% tuition refund. After you attend your 3rd class, you will not qualify for a refund. This policy is only valid in your first month of studies. If you sign up for fewer than 4 weeks of classes, there will be NO refunds. Refunds will only be made to the person, company or agency that paid our school. If the student paid through an agency, he or she must speak directly with that agency for a refund, all refunds paid via check or wire transfer will be made via a refund check form the school. However, if school fees were paid by credit card, then the school will process the refund to the credit card used for payment.

  • Refund Policy for 8 Week & Private Programs

    All students may submit a written request to cancel three (3) days prior to the course start date and they will receive a full refund. After this time, there will be no refunds made on tuition paid. Private Classes only shall be entitled to 1 absence with credit per month if you notify 24 hours in advance via email or by calling the office.
