About This Conversion Tool
This calculator uses the official 2018 concordance tables jointly developed by ACT, Inc. and the College Board. Despite recent changes to test formats—including the rollout of the Digital SAT in 2024 and the Enhanced ACT in 2025—these organizations confirm that the 2018 tables remain the current standard for comparing scores.
Usage Guidelines
- Estimation Only: Conversions are based on percentile ranks and are not perfect predictors of performance on the other test.
- Do Not Superscore: Avoid using converted scores to create a "superscore" across different test types.
- Individual Use: This tool is best used for individual student advising and admissions benchmarking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this accurate for the Digital SAT? +
Yes. The Digital SAT scores are designed to be directly comparable to the paper-based version on the 400-1600 scale. No adjustments to the concordance tables are currently required.
Does the 2025 ACT change the scoring? +
The Enhanced ACT (starting April 2025) makes Science optional and changes the Composite calculation to the average of English, Math, and Reading. However, the score scale (1-36) remains the same, and the 2018 tables still apply until official updates are released.
What is a "good" conversion score? +
Scores depend on the colleges you are applying to. For example, an ACT 30 converts to approximately an SAT 1370, which is generally considered highly competitive for many universities.
